can you imagine all the actors who will be offended in like 10 years or so when their agents call them and tell them: ‘’hey bro! hbo is making a movie about the 2016 presidential elections, they need someone to play ted cruz and i think you will be perfect!’’
i’m not even his agent but i’m calling miles teller when that happens.
kids 2015: hey check out these pictures of me at Vans Warped Tour haha kids 1815 *after waiting 6 weeks for a telegram*: bartholomew has died of smallpox
Me as a thief: Steals the US Constitution. Replaces it with a perfect forgery, except the Second Amendment has been edited from “the right to bear arms” to “the right to bare arms.” Breaking News the next day: Nation has been misreading the Constitution for over 200 years. Historians mortified. Politicians scramble to save face. Gun control laws go into effect nationwide. School principals trying to punish high school girls for wearing tank tops get slapped with a lawsuit for violating their Second Amendment right to bare arms. I fall asleep on a mountain of money in my mansion in the Bahamas. Suck it Nicolas Cage.
I have a bitter theory about what happened in Civil War and it’s not pretty:
The Winter Soldier happened BEFORE the media got overexcited about Stucky.
Then the D23 exclusive scene happened, and you know how the media/fans latched on the “ your bucky” scene.
There was this small interview with Vancamp that
foreshadowed her role in Civil War, and how their relationship was
going to unfold on Civil War, not that it would already be there:
As for the relationship between Cap and Sharon, VanCamp talked about the
characters’ romantic relationship in the comics and said it won’t be
explored to that extent in Civil War. Instead, the characters will simply be getting to know each other in this film.
This
happened just after the first trailer dropped, and HECK, it wasn’t that
trailer aimed at the shippers. I remember thinking exactly that the
movie couldn’t ever live up to THAT trailer, heh. Anyway, the 1st
trailer arriving still after the D23 scene, and once again, people were
taking Stucky was a serious possibility.
After this it went to hell.
Late
january we got the actors called in for the extra scene filming, and
the location/clothes where the same of The Kiss scene. The Russos,
shortly after giving the interview saying “we have written them as
brothers, but we want it open for interpretation really” backtracked
fully into “brotherly love” and nothing more, after that re-filming went
on.
And the Russos announced there was going to be a kiss in
their livestream on the FB page, I was.. uh, let’s say, surprised by
their delivery of the news. It was so deadpan, so “I bet you can’t guess
who”, which I can totally see sarcasm on that video now. They are not
pleased, but they’re contract bound, so is Evans (which isn’t hiding his
frustration either).
So I firmly believe there was a higher up
order to make the movie as non-gay as possible, and they had to recut a
lot of scenes to make this happen. Funnily enough, the Scene I see Steve
heart breaking is that quiet way of his is exactly the mid-credits
scene, where he lets Bucky go.
Every single thing about this makes me sad.
Vancamp is dealing with the backlash of fans/critiques of how the story unfolded;
Sebastian Stan was probably cut short on some amazing acting on his part, because of no-homo-lol
Evans
character can be read as dull if you’re taking on emotional delivery
alone because heck, they’ve cut him out of the picture where Bucky was
concerned. So yeah, as an actor? He must be FURIOUS.

An old woman sells strawberries in Gaza . 2 February 2015
Those are the most beautiful strawberries I ever seen. I’ve reblogged them before, but I would be head over heels for a basket of strawberries like that.
